Weekly Update
2020-11-27
Rooks County continues to see a high number of new COVID-19 cases (65 over the last week) and still has a positivity rate of more than 40% this week. RCH reports they are still having difficulty finding receiving hospitals when patients require transfer to a higher level of care. With families gathering during the Thanksgiving holiday, we expect a further increase in the number of cases during the next two weeks and plan to modify our extracurricular activities to minimize the risk of transmission at a school-based event.
At this time, USD 269 plans to return to in-person learning for the week of November 30-December 4. If there is any adjustment required to the learning setting due to concerns in the schools, we will update our families quickly following a decision.
We continue to ask our families and the community to help stop the spread by wearing face coverings, practicing social distancing and good hygiene and by limiting social gatherings.
We appreciate the support of our families and our communities as we work through these issues each week.
